jaden lost his very first tooth last week and i can’t help but feel that with that one tooth he’s lost all traces of babyhood. something about that toothless smile makes him look like such a big kid. not a baby, not a toddler, not a preschooler…but a big kid. i didn’t expect this to happen until at least first or second grade! i was so unprepared that when his tooth first started wiggling, he mistook my surprise as fear and he got worried. luckily, that was immediately replaced with pride and excitement when i told him all about the tooth fairy. now he won’t stop asking when his next baby tooth will come out! i guess we’ll be having many visits from the tooth fairy here on out…
